Bomb scare forces evacuation of Gold Coast shopping centre

PARTS of a Gold Coast shopping centre were evacuated yesterday following a second bomb scare in as many days.

Staff at the Pacific Fair shopping centre were forced to evacuate for up to two hours after reports of an elderly woman putting “suspicious packages” in a nearby rubbish bin.

The Bulletin reports police were called to the centre around 3pm and, after speaking with the elderly woman, discovered the packages were actually incontinence pads.
