A surfer has had a close encounter with a shark at Bondi Beach this morning, with the large sea creature trying to hitch a ride on his board.
Dean Norbun was surfing with a mate at the south end of Bondi Beach in Sydney when the shark reportedly jumped up onto his board before swimming off under another surfer.
Bondi Rescue Lifeguards reported the confronting encounter on their facebook page.

“We had a small shark (6 foot) jump on a local surfers board this morning then swim off under another surfer,” the post read.
“The man was not injured. Lifeguards spoke to both men and cleared the water afterwards.
“Will be a very memorable surf for both guys.”
