Christmas has come early for Gold Coast bookworms, with the City of Gold Coast holding its annual, 3-day book sale from 4pm tomorrow at Broadbeach Library.
Alison Kemp from the City of Gold Coast Libraries said bibliophiles could expect to find a huge range of popular authors, music scores, graphic novels, large print, art books, travel books, encyclopedia sets, and kids’ books.
“There comes a time when books become a bit tired or a trending topic passes so we make room for new books on new topics,” she told myGC.

“Our aim is to get Gold Coasters reading, so to have the books continue to serve this purpose beyond their library life is win-win.”
Proceeds from the book sale will go towards running the city libraries’ popular community programs.
Ms Kemp advised local book lovers to allow enough time browse and be patient, and said: “There is no advantage to arriving early as boxes will be unpacked over the duration of sale.”
The book sale at Broadbeach Public Library will be held on:
- Thursday 1 December from 4pm – 7pm;
- Friday 2 December from 9am – 6pm.
- Saturday 3 December from 9am – 2pm.
