The presence of box jellyfish have forced a Queensland beach to close.
Eight of the very venomous creatures were caught in drag nets – near Mackay on the central coast.
Surf Life Saving Queensland confirmed to News Corp that Lamberts Beach will be closed for at least 24 hours after the deadly jellyfish were caught.

Nearby Eimeo and Sarina beaches were also shut on Saturday after several other box jellyfish were caught in waters there, The Daily Mercury reported.
The sting of a box jellyfish causes immediate severe burning pain and whip-like marks, with severe stings causing the casualty to stop breathing and suffer cardiac arrest.
