A TEENAGE boy has been charged with bashing a woman before sexually assaulting her in Queensland’s far north.
It’s alleged the 15-year-old broke into a home in the Cairns suburb of Edmonton, around 9.50pm on Tuesday, and assaulted a woman aged in her 20s.
The woman was allegedly punched in the face and hit about the head several times before being sexually assaulted.

The boy then ran off and the woman contacted police.
She was transported to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Cairns detectives arrested and charged the 15-year-old boy on Wednesday morning.
He’s facing two counts of sexual assault and one count each of assault with intent to rape, attempted rape and enter dwelling with intent in the night time.
