Boy, 15, charged over carjacking, police chase

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged over a violent carjacking and police pursuit in the NSW Shoalhaven region.

Police said two young males attended a home on Shirley Street at Bomaderry just before 10pm on Tuesday where they allegedly threatened a 19-year-old man with an iron club before forcing him to drive them to Park Road at East Nowra.

It is alleged that one of the males threatened the driver with a knife and ordered him out of the car, before the pair drove away.

Police were called and attempted to stop the car on Old Southern Road, however, the driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later the car stopped on Moresby Street and the occupants fled the scene.

Following investigations, detectives yesterday arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Thursday August 6.

Investigations are continuing.
