A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with stabbing a man in the throat during a bungled break-and-enter on the Gold Coast.
The victim, a 45-year-old father, disturbed three people breaking into cars along Monterey Keys and Lake Shore Drives in Helensvale around 4am on Wednesday.
Police said the man, who was dressed only in his underwear, caught the trio trying to get into his car and chased them down the street.

It is then when one of the three offenders, a 15-year-old boy, allegedly turned around and stabbed the man in the throat.
The teen has since been charged with unlawful wounding and three counts of stealing from a motor vehicle.
His arrest comes after a 17-year-old boy from Southport was arrested and charged over his alleged involvement in the crime spree.
He is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on April 19, charged with four counts of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence.
A third teenager, a 15-year-old girl, was also detained at the scene and continues to assist police with their enquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
