Boy, 16, arrested and charged with stabbing teen in the chest

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged after allegedly stabbing a teenager in the chest at a house in regional NSW.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was allegedly attacked at a house on Ulong Street in Griffith on Tuesday afternoon.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Griffith Hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the teen’s injuries were not considered life-threatening and he has been discharged from hospital.

Around 20 minutes after the attack, a 16-year-old boy handed himself into police at Griffith Police Station.

The boy was arrested and charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody overnight and scheduled to appear in a children’s court today.
