Boy, 17, charged over brutal attack on bus driver

A TEENAGE boy has been charged over the brutal attack of a bus driver southeast of Brisbane last week.

It’s alleged the bus driver was sitting in a bus parked at an interchange at Capalaba around 8pm when he was accosted by a group of males who wanted to get on board.

That’s when police the 17-year-old boy allegedly forced open the doors of the bus and started viciously attacking the 41-year-old driver.


The man was repeatedly punched in the head before being ripped from his seat and dragged off the bus where it’s alleged he was further bashed before the teen fled on foot.

The driver needed to be taken to hospital for treatment to facial, chest, neck and arm injuries.

The boy has since been arrested and charged with unlawful entry of a vehicle for committing an indictable offence and assault occasioning bodily harm.
