Boy, 5, struck by car while crossing busy Sydney road

A FIVE-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he was run over by a car while crossing a road in Sydney’s south-west.

Police said the child was attempting to cross Marion Street in Bankstown when he was struck around 2.50pm.

The driver stopped and rendered assistance and has since been interviewed by police.


The five-year-old boy was stabilised by paramedics at the scene before he was taken to The Children’s Hospital.

Police said he was transported by ambulance in a serious but stable condition.
