Boy, 6, knocked unconscious after falling off the back of a parked ute in NSW

A SIX-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after falling off the back of a ute at a house in Sydney.

It’s understood the boy was climbing on a tool box on the back of the parked ute at a house in Mount Kuring-gai, in the city’s north, when he slipped shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday.

He sustained head injuries and was knocked unconscious after falling almost two metres to the ground.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic were flown to the scene in the rapid response rescue helicopter which landed on a netball court at the local public school.

Paramedics carried the child to the chopper where he was assessed by the critical care team who decided to transport him to hospital by ambulance.

The Careflight crew accompanied the little boy in the ambulance as he was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remains this evening in a stable condition.
