Child killed, crushed by truck on family farm in southeast Queensland
UPDATE 4:00PM | An eight-year-old boy has been crushed to death by a truck he was helping his father fix on the family’s farm west of the Gold Coast.
It’s understood the child was helping his dad change a tyre on the truck, reported to be a tanker, on the family farm near Beaudesert at around midday on Saturday when the tragedy struck.
Police said the man had gone to move the truck forward when his eight-year-old son had suddenly reached underneath the vehicle.
The child was reportedly crushed after becoming trapped beneath a wheel.
He died at the scene.
Police, including officers from the Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime, are at the scene investigating, however say the boy’s death appears to have been nothing more than a tragic accident.
