Boy, 8, struck by police car on the Gold Coast

A BOY has been injured after he was reportedly struck by a police car outside a Gold Coast primary school this afternoon.

It’s understood the boy was struck outside Varsity College Primary School, Varsity Lakes just before 3pm.

Witnesses told myGC the child ran out onto the road and inadvertently into the path of the police car. 


“I saw it happen in front of my eyes, a police car hit the kid but the kid did run out onto the road in between parked and passing cars,” one woman said.

An ambulance spokesperson said the young boy was being treated by paramedics at the scene for leg injuries.

He will be transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
