Boy ‘accidentally shot’ on NSW property

A boy has been airlifted to hospital after being shot in the abdomen on a rural property in the NSW Riverina region.

Emergency services were called to the property in Waugorah, west of Wagga Wagga, about 10.45am on Saturday.

They found a 12-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from Barrier Police District have launched an investigation into the matter, including whether there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
