Boy airlifted to hospital in critical condition after horror water ski accident

A 13-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital following a serious accident at a water ski park on the Sunshine Coast.

Just after 4.00pm yesterday, emergency services were called to the park at Bli Bli after the teen hit his head attempting a jump and nearly drowned.

A LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedic treated the boy on scene for serious head injuries before rushing him to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

He was then airlifted to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition.
