Boy arrested over alleged arson attack at GC school
A teenage boy has been arrested over a suspicious fire at Aquinas College in Ashmore on Sunday.
Police allege that around 1.30pm, a fire was deliberately lit at the school which is situated at the intersection of Edmund Rice Drive and Southport Nerang Road.
The blaze caused extensive damage to a number of lockers, port racks and ceiling however there was no structural damage to the building.
A 16-year-old Carrara boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
