Boy charged with robbing Murwillumbah supermarket at knifepoint
A BOY has been charged with holding up a supermarket at knifepoint in Murwillumbah.
The 16-year-old allegedly stormed the Brisbane Street store around 6pm on Thursday.
Armed with knives, the boy allegedly threatened a female staff member and demanded money.
The knife-wielding boy fled the store with a stash of cash of cigarettes.
Fortunately, the woman was not physically injured.
Following inquiries, the 16-year-old boy was today arrested and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
He was also charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
The boy was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.
