Boy charged with robbing Gold Coast grocery store armed with hammer
A 16-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged armed robbery of a grocery store in Varsity Lakes on Saturday.
Police say the boy allegedly stormed into the shop on Varsity Parade around 6.50am and threatened staff whilst armed with a hammer.
He allegedly stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the store on foot.
Following investigations, a teenage boy from Mudgeeraba was charged with one count of armed robbery.
