POLICE were forced to rescue a five-year-old boy locked inside a car yesterday, while his stepfather was having a beer inside a northern NSW tavern.
Around 2:55pm on Wednesday, police were called to the Chinderah Tavern after witnesses saw the boy locked inside the vehicle in the car park.
Acting Inspector Troy Hamilton of NSW Police said the child was in a distressed condition when officers rescued him from the vehicle.
