A young boy has been thrown into the windscreen of a car after being struck at Lake Illawarra.
Police said the 16-year-old boy was crossing Central Road at Unanderra around 3.00pm on Thursday when he was struck by a green Holden Commodore.
The teen was thrown into the air, hitting the front windscreen of the car before falling onto the road.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old woman, provided a positive roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
She has since been released pending further inquiries.
Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact Crime Stoppers.
