Boy understood to be injured by fragments in drive-by shooting, Logan

Investigations are underway in Logan today, where a boy is believed to have been struck in the head with fragments from a shotgun.

The 17-year-old self-presented at Logan Hospital last night with wounds at the back of his head.

Police report that his injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigations have commenced into a physical altercation, which is understood to have taken place between 6.00pm and 7.00pm at Logan reserve.

Early inquiries suggest a group had become involved in a brawl, where the 17-year-old may have been struck by fragments from a shotgun fired from a passing car.

There were two 18-year-old men with the boy at the time, but they did not require medical treatment.

Police are now calling for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area to come forward.
