Two youths have been arrested following the heartless robbery of a 66-year-old man at Nerang in the early hours of this morning.
Around 3.30am, the man was walking through a shopping centre on Tibbing Street when he was approached by two male youths.
The pair asked the man for a cigarette, and when the man refused, one of the youths struck the man on the side of the head and produced a knife.

The man handed over money and his mobile phone, and the pair fled the scene on foot.
The 66-year-old man did not require medical treatment.
Following subsequent inquiries, police were able to track the stolen phone to a Riverview Street, Nerang address, where they arrested a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old.
Investigations are continuing.
