Brazen thief steals bottle shop manager’s car after threatening him with knife

Police are investigating after a bottle shop was robbed in Smithfield overnight.

About 6pm yesterday Sunday 25 October 2015, the manager of the shop, which is located on The Horsley Drive, was preparing to close.

Police have been told a man holding a black object slid under the partially-shut roller door and demanded money.

Fearing the object may have been a knife, the manager, a 34-year-old man, complied with the request.

The intruder then demanded the manager’s car keys, before driving off in the grey Proton Persona sedan.

The car has NSW registration plates BP5 7PX.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command are investigating the incident, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 30 years old, and clean shaven with freckled cheeks.

Anyone who has information that may assist police, or who knows the whereabouts of the car, should contact Crime Stoppers.
