Brazen thieves on the run after breaking into Gold Coast home

Investigations are underway following a brazen home break-in on the Gold Coast early this morning.

Just after 5am, residents of a house along Limtree Drive in Runaway Bay woke to find thieves rummaging through their home.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC they chased the offenders out, where they then jumped into a stolen Mercedes.

It didn’t take long before the Mercedes crashed on nearby Sundance Way.

“The offenders then got into another vehicle that was in company with them and fled the scene leaving the stolen Mercedes behind,” the police spokesperson said.

Fortunately, the residents of the home were uninjured.

Investigations are continuing.
