An emergency operation is underway on the northern Gold Coast this morning following a chemical leak.
The leak is believed to have started inside a tanker on Lahrs Road in Ormeau around 6.30am, with a nearby business evacuated.
A number of police, fire crews and paramedics are on scene, with a scientific truck from Brisbane also called in to assist.

It’s understood scientific officers are currently conducting air samples with a gas detector.
Thankfully no one has been injured, however paramedics remain on standby for fire crews.
Lahrs Road has been closed in both directions, with police urging motorists to avoid the area.
