Miami house fire “not suspicious”

UPDATE @ 1:30 PM: Fire crews have managed to successfully extinguish a house fire at Miami on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

The blaze erupted at a home on Pacific Avenue just after 12:30pm, with firefighters saying the home was “well engulfed” when they arrived.

The fire was out by around 1:15pm.


Authorities confirmed the owner of the building was safe and accounted for, with no one requiring treatment by paramedics.

Firefighters are currently testing the air quality around the Pizzey Park area and are scaling back their operation.

It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze, which has been deemed ‘not suspicious’.

EARLIER @ 12:45pm: Fire crews have rushed to the scene of a house fire on the Gold Coast.

It’s understood the blaze erupted at a home on Pacific Avenue at Miami just before 12.30pm.

Firies are currently working to extinguish the flames.

Queensland Ambulance Services are also on standby at the scene, however no one is believed to have been injured at this stage.

Police have blocked both eastbound lanes on Pacific Avenue, with motorists being urged to avoid the area.
