Two homes consumed by fire on the Gold Coast

UPDATE at 2:20 PM | PARAMEDICS are treating a man for smoke inhalation at the scene of a large fire which has consumed two houses on the Gold Coast.

myGC can confirm two homes on Rainbow Drive in Mudgeeraba are now alight after one of the properties went up in flames about 1.15pm.

Queensland Ambulance has confirmed paramedics are treating a man in his 40s for smoke inhalation at the scene.


Five fire crews are at the scene battling the blaze and protecting neighbouring properties. Police are also in attendance.

It is not yet known how the blaze started, however, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that it may have been sparked by faulty solar panels.

FIRST at 2:00 PM | FIREFIGHTERS are battling a ferocious fire which has consumed at least one house on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire on Rainbow Drive in Mudgeeraba just after 1pm.

Fire crews arrived to find a large amount of black smoke billowing from the home, which was well alight.

It’s understood the fire has also spread and impacted on a neighbouring home.

Four fire crews were on the scene at the time of writing, battling to contain the blaze.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said power lines have also come down in the street.

Paramedics are on standby.
