A RESCUE helicopter has been called in to help search for a swimmer, missing at a beach on the NSW Mid North Coast.
The 27-year-old man was swimming at Woolgoolga Beach, north of Coffs Harbour, when he disappeared.
Emergency services were called to the beach just after 3.30pm AEDT.

Police said the man entered the water with a 21-year-old woman before the pair got into trouble.
Bystanders raced to help the woman out of the water but sadly, her companion could not be found.
Surf lifesavers have joined police, marine rescue and paramedics in the search for the man.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has also been dispatched to the scene to help.
The search was ongoing at the time of writing.
