LATEST @ 1.00 PM | Police have confirmed a man has died after being shot by officers on the Logan Motorway this morning.
It happened just after 6.00am on Thursday, when police responded to reports of a man walking alongside the Logan Motorway at Drewvale.
Upon arrival, police said they were immediately confronted by a 22-year-old man who allegedly threatened officers with a knife.

“Police shot the man and immediately rendered first aid, however he died a short time later,” Qld police said.
The Logan Motorway has been closed eastbound and significant delays are expected for most of the day.
The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the incident with the investigation to be overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
EARLIER 7.30 AM | Massive delays are being experienced East Bound on the Logan Motorway this morning due to a major police incident.
An alleged armed man has been shot dead by officers on the busy stretch at Drewvale.
It’s understood police were responding to reports of a traffic hazard on the motorway just after 6.00am on Thursday, when they were confronted by the man who was on foot.
Officers were forced to open fire on the man, who died at the scene.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, with all East Bound lanes closed.
“East Bound lanes closed due to a police incident. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes as extensive delays are expected,” Qld Police said.
The incident is ongoing.
