Man freed from wreckage after car crashes into pole at Ashmore

UPDATE @ 9.00 AM | A man has been freed and taken to hospital following a crash in Ashmore this morning.

Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Heeb Street and Benowa Road just before 8am, after receiving reports of a person trapped in a vehicle.

It’s understood the car collided with a power pole.


Fire crews desperately worked to free the motorist using heavy duty tools, before he was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

EARLIER @ 8.30 AM | Emergency crews are currently at the scene of a serious crash in Ashmore.

One person is trapped after a car crashed into a pole on Heeb Street just before 8am this morning.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson told myGC two crews are working to free the driver.

Three Queensland Ambulance crews are also at the crash site, however it’s not yet known what injuries the motorist has sustained.

Police are redirecting traffic in the area, however drivers are being urged to seek alternative routes with delays being experienced.
