Police have confirmed bones found inside a septic tank near a school in Brisbane’s north last month belong to a man who vanished 30 years ago.
Wayne Youngkin was 29-years-old when he went missing from Brighton in 1986.
His remains were discovered in a disused tank at the back of a special education facility in Brighton during routine maintenance on November 29 this year.

Police are treating his death as suspicious and have launched a homicide investigation.
They are especially keen to speak to a person who called Sandgate Police Station on August 22, 1992 in relation to Wayne’s disappearance.
