The wet weather is being blamed for sparking two power outage on the Gold Coast on Tuesday and Energex warns there could be more to come.
Powerlines were brought down earlier, causing a fault at the substation behind Movie World on Tuesday afternoon. That caused 4,500 homes and businesses to lose power. Pacific Pines and Oxenford were worst affected.
Right now there are 873 still without power in Gaven, Guanaba, Maudsland, Mermaid Waters and Wongawallan.

Energex said it is not clear what caused the powerlines to come down, that is under investigation as crews battle the wet conditions and attempt to get all the power back on.
Also on Tuesday morning around 800 homes and businesses in Southport lost power after water possibly seeped into underground cabling. That is under investigation too.
But Energex warned us to expect more outages as the rain continues to fall over the next few days.
