Toddler one of six people seriously injured in horror two car crash

A WOMAN is in a critical condition and five other people including a toddler have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a horror two-car crash south west of Melbourne.

The Toyota sedan and a Toyota hatchback collided at the intersection of Colac-Lorne and Birregurra-Forrest roads in the small town of Birregurra just before 5.30pm on Saturday.

A woman aged in her 60s who was travelling in the sedan suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision.


The woman was airlifted to a hospital in Melbourne where she remains tonight in a critical condition.

Four other occupants of the sedan, including a toddler, and the female driver of the hatchback were rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Police released a statement shortly after 9pm confirming all five occupants taken to hospital by ambulance have serious injuries.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are tonight examining the scene.
