BREAKING: Two people found dead in Gold Coast unit

LATEST @ 3.50 PM | Police have confirmed they’re investigating the “sudden death” of a man and “suspicious death” of a woman at an apartment block in Labrador.

Officers discovered the bodies after being called to The Sapphire at The Broadwater apartment block on Labrador Street around 10.20am this morning.

Upon arrival, they found a 53-year-old man deceased inside the apartment.

“Initial investigations indicate that the man’s death is not suspicious,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

A short time later, police located a second body at the residence, believed to be that of a 48-year-old woman.

A crime scene was declared at the unit around 11.40am, with forensic investigators called to the property.

Police say a post-mortem will be conducted at a later date.

Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER @ 2.40 PM | A major investigation is underway after two people were found dead at an apartment block in Labrador.

Police made the shock discovery after being called to a unit on Labrador Street just before 10.30am on Friday.

Upon arrival, they found a man deceased inside the apartment before discovering a second body at the residence a short time later.

A crime scene was declared at the property around 11.40am.

Forensic investigators are currently scouring the scene, with police confirming the deaths are being treated as suspicious.

In a statement, police said “no further information can be released at this time”.

WTF is going on in this place? Another sad and despicable act.

Unthinkably horrible. We need to listen to the experts, leave our politics at the door, and put resources, lots of them, over a long time to where the experts say. It will cost a lot but we have to do it.
