Two shot in Gold Coast shopping centre car park

UPDATE @ 6.30 AM by Monique StClair| Police are still on the hunt for those responsible for a daylight shooting on the Gold Coast.

Two men were found injured in their vehicle in the car park of an Upper Coomera shopping centre just before 3.00 pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where two men were briefly assessed before being taken to hospital in stable conditions.

“Both of the gentlemen were clinically in stable conditions, and reportedly they were quite comfortable,” Jayney Shearman from QAS said.

Investigations are underway this morning, with detectives expected to talk to the victims once they’re ok in hospital.

Early inquiries suggest a motive may be linked to an MMA fight on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.

Police aren’t positive that the shooting happened at the car park, saying the victims may have been shot elsewhere and then driven to the shopping centre.

The vehicle is undergoing forensic testing today, while it’s understood the suspected shooter/s got away in a black Audi.

Investigations are continuing.
