Victoria has recorded five new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours as the state endures the first weekend of its latest lockdown.
The relatively low number of cases comes despite huge testing numbers, with 56,624 people swabbed yesterday.
Today’s cases take the total number in the local outbreak to 35.

The state also administered 21,626 vaccines as Victorians rush to get jabbed.
Officials will provide more details of today’s cases at a media conference later this morning.
Frantic contact tracing is continuing across the state with the number of exposure sites soaring to more than 150.
There are also more than 15,000 contacts that have been identified from those venues.
However, contact tracers are having trouble tracking down hundreds more who didn’t sign into affected venues using QR codes.
More to come.
