Woman hospitalised following near-drowning on the Gold Coast

LATEST @ 11.45am A swimmer has been hospitalised following a near-drowning in Main Beach this morning.

The woman, reportedly in her 20s, was swimming off Muriel Henchman Drive at The Spit just before 11am when she “took on water”.

Paramedics assessed her at the scene, with a QAS spokesperson confirming she was conscious and breathing.

She’s now been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

EARLIER @ 11.30pm Emergency Services are currently on-scene of a near-drowning in Main Beach.

A woman “took on water” while swimming off Muriel Henchman Drive just before 11am this morning.

A QAS spokesperson confirmed she is thankfully conscious and breathing.

Paramedics are currently on scene assessing the woman, who is reportedly in her 20s.
