Breakthrough in disappearance of Madeline McCann

A MAJOR DEVELOPMENT in the investigation into the disappearance of British girl Madeline McCann from Portugal in 2007.

A 76-year-old British man, reportedly once questioned over the rape of a child in Australia, will be interviewed by UK police.

The Sydney Morning Herald said the UK’S Daily Mirror reported Roderick Macdonald was deported from Portugal to Australia in 2010 for raping an eight-year-old girl.

He is believed to have been linked to a paedophile ring with connections to the abduction of the then three year old.

Madeline went missing from a resort room while her parents were eating dinner with family friends nearby.

Mr Macdonald will be deported from Malta to Britain.
