Brisbane CBD streets closed after woman hit and killed by bus

UPDATE @ 8.30 AM | A WOMAN has died after being hit by a bus in Brisbane City this morning.

Police say the woman was crossing Ann Street near the intersection of Wharf Street just before 7am when she was struck.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, the woman died at the scene.

Ann Street is currently closed to traffic with diversions in place. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER @ 7.30 AM | EMERGENCY crews are currently at the scene of a serious accident in Brisbane’s CBD.

There are reports a woman has been hit by a bus.

The incident is understood to have happened at the intersection of Ann Street and Wharf Street just before 7.00am.

The pedestrian is being treated at the scene by paramedics. They are believed to have suffered critical injuries.

Queensland Police have closed Ann St at Wharf St and are urging motorists to avoid the area.
