The Brisbane Lions have announced their new coach from 2017 onward – as former Hawthorn Football Chief Chris Fagan.
He will replace coach and former player Justin Leppitch, who was sacked following a woeful 3-win season for 2016.
Fagan spent six seasons as Hawthorn’s head of coaching and development before being appointed GM of football operations, mid-way through the 2013 season.

CEO Stuart Fox said the club wishes him the very best.
“Chris has been a fantastic contributor to our football club and we wish him well as he moves into a senior coaching position,” Fox said.
“He has been instrumental in our recent success and his work alongside the coaches, players and administration staff has been first-class.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution to Hawthorn Football Club and wish Chris and his wife Ursula, and their daughters Ellen and Jessica well.”
