Brisbane make bunnies out of Souths

ALEX HEINKE reports.

The Brisbane Broncos have sent a warning message to rivals with a eight try drubbing of fourth spot Rabbitohs.

The 47-12 win takes the Broncos back to top spot for at least 24 hours and darkens Souths run into the finals who will battle without Isaac Luke who was placed on report for a blatant shoulder charge.

Pivots Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford scored five tries between them and had almost free run through the middle of the Souths defense.

Wayne Bennett’s men showed they could attack from anywhere, including their own in-goal with a brilliant 100m try off a kick-off and a 95m solo effort from winger Corey Oates.

South’s John Sutton also suffered a possible leg injury, this could see him join fullback Greg Inglis on the sidelines.
