Brisbane man ambushed, gang bashed and robbed in savage attack

A MAN has been left concussed and covered in bruises after he was allegedly gang bashed by a group of thugs in Brisbane last night.

Two males approached the 25-year-old victim below the cliffs on Lower River Terrace at Kangaroo Point around 12.10am and asked to use his mobile phone.

The victim handed over his phone to one of the males and the pair fled, with the victim giving chase.

As the man caught up with the pair, police say he was ambushed by a further six males who allegedly punched and kicked him repeatedly before stealing his laptop, Apple Iwatch and shoes.

Police are still searching for the males who fled the scene after being disturbed by a passing cyclist. They are described as around 15-18 years of age, dark skinned in appearance with thin builds.

The Kangaroo Point man suffered a concussion as well as serious bruising and abrasions in the attack. He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
