Brisbane man charged as a terrorist in Germany

There are claims a Brisbane man fighting Islamic State militants overseas has been charged as a terrorist and will be sent to Australia from Germany.

Ashley Dyball has taken to social media to say he is being sent to a Detention Centre and will be on a flight back to Australia in two days’ time.

Using the alias Mitchell Scott on Facebook he posted “if anyone has a good german lawyer help a brother out been charged as a terrorist”.


The ABC reported that Dyball was travelling through Europe during a break from the battlefield when he was detained.

The 23-year-old is friends with former Gold Coaster Reece Harding who died after stepping on a bomb while helping Kurdish forces in Syria in June.

Reece’s dad Keith posted the following on Dyball’s Facebook page.
