Brisbane man stabbed to death after investigating “power outage”

A man has been stabbed to death after he went outside his home to investigate a power outage in Kuraby early this morning.

Police said early investigations suggests the fatal attack happened on Saint George Street just after 12.30am.

“Preliminary information suggests around 12.30am the 35-year-old man, who resided at the address, went outside to investigate a power outage and was attacked with an unknown weapon,” Qld Police said in a statement.

The man, who is a father of four, was found dead in the front yard of the home with a number of significant wounds.

It’s not yet known whether the attack was random or targeted.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are underway.

This is a dreadful example of what can happen when electricity meters, fuses/CBs and main isolator switches are outside the premises in unsecured locations, as is commonly the case.
