Man armed with ‘fake’ machine gun in custody
UPDATE: Police have taken a man into custody following a frightening incident in Rochedale, Brisbane this afternoon.
The man, dressed in camouflage and believed to be armed with a fake machine gun, was taken into custody just before 12.30pm.
More than 15 police cars swooped on the area dressed in bullet proof vests just after 11.30am with Rochedale education facilities including an early learning centre forced into lockdown after witnesses reported seeing a man running around the area armed with a ‘gun’ and dressed in a military uniform.

EARLIER: Brisbane schools have been forced into lockdown after reports a man is walking around the Rochedale area armed with a machine gun and dressed in a military uniform.
More than 15 police cars have swooped on the area dressed in bullet proof vests.
Rochedale education facilities including an early learning centre have been placed in lockdown with the man yet to be found.
