Brisbane Broncos travelled down to the Nations Capital to take on Canberra Raiders on Saturday evening, affected by a gruelling Origin opener on Wednesday night. The Raiders were looking to keep in touch with the top 8 and Broncos were aiming for the top of the ladder, however in the end only the Broncos would come out with the desired result.
The Broncos came away from GIO Stadium with a 24-12 win over the Raiders in very chilly Canberra conditions, with a very vocal crowd of just over 10,000 not happy with some of the decisions being made by the officials. However although decisions were not necessarily in the home side’s favour, inevitably it made little difference because the Raiders couldn’t make the most of the chances they had on the Broncos line, making costly errors and their kicking game didn’t do enough to put the Broncos under enough pressure.
