Broncos trample Roosters to grab spot in NRL grand final

BRISBANE Broncos fans have celebrated through the night, after the NRL side locked in their first grand final appearance since 2006.

Spectators were on their feet at a packed Suncorp Stadium in the first minute, when a long pass from Sydney Roosters winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall ended up in the hands of Brisbane fullback Darius Boyd.

The intercept led to the first try of an action-packed game, which saw the Broncos hit a 16-0 lead within 20 minutes before coming away victors 31-12 over the Minor Premiers.

Returning after a month off with an injured hamstring, Roosters star halfback Mitchell Pearce was taken off the field late in the first half, this time for a knock to his knee.

Queenslanders are now gunning for a Sunshine State decider, with the Cowboys taking on the Storm in Melbourne tonight.
