Police have revoked an emergency situation and reopened the Bruce Highway following the detonation of an explosive device in Edmonton.
The suspicious item was found around 11.45am on Wednesday by a member of the public.
Officers from the Explosive Ordinance Response Team (EORT) raced to the scene and X-rayed the item, confirming it to be consistent with an explosive device.

An emergency situation was declared at 4:35pmand revoked at 7:15pm following the controlled detonation by specialist officers.
Police say investigations are continuing.
