Bruce Highway reopened after bomb squad detonate explosive device
Police have revoked an emergency situation and reopened the Bruce Highway following the detonation of an explosive device in Edmonton.
The suspicious item was found around 11.45am on Wednesday by a member of the public.
Officers from the Explosive Ordinance Response Team (EORT)Â raced to the scene and X-rayed the item, confirming it to be consistent with an explosive device.
An emergency situation was declared at 4:35pmand revoked at 7:15pm following the controlled detonation by specialist officers.
Police say investigations are continuing.
