John Buchanan has returned serve to Michael Clarke’s extraordinary claims the the former Australian cricket coach had no impact on the country’s era of dominance in the sport.

Clarke last week compared Buchanan’s influence on the team to his dog, stating “even my dog Jerry could have coached” that Australian side to world domination.

Clarke’s Ashes 2015 Diary also criticised former team mates Andrew Symonds and Matthew Hayden.

Buchanan didn’t attack Clarke directly but wrote on his website about the traits of a true leader.

He returned fire by implying Clarke’s ability as a leader is underwhelming and that he has a lot to learn.

Shows Clarke’s immature attitude. He put himself above the team time and time again, then if anyone even hints at him not being the be all and end all, he writes childish comments in his book. Not even a direct response to the people in question.
