An original 1955 beach shack fronting Budds Beach foreshore has come onto the market for the first time in 61 years.
Marina, meaning a promenade by the sea, was bought for £50 in 1955 and occupies a 516m2 land parcel in the tightly held address of River Drive.
The modest two-bedroom home signals six decades of memories for one local family who will auction the deceased estate on November 5.

One of the owners said three generations of her family would carry precious memories of past holidays at Marina.
“We will miss the glorious sunsets over the hinterland and the easy access to the beach,” she said.
Harcourt’s Coastal selling agent Katrina Keegan said it was a once-in-a-lifetime purchase in the sought-after location. “There are limited original beach houses left on the Gold Coast , 23 river drive is 1 of only 11 houses ti share this iconic budds beach address. ‘Marina’ offers the rare opportunity to refurbish an icon, renovate or build a new home in a lifestyle-rich location,” she said.
The property, at 23 River Drive, Surfers Paradise, goes to auction onsite at midday, November 5.
